People with cancer may have heard of taxotere chemotherapy. This treatment is given intravenously into the vein. The treatment takes about an hour and is usually given every three weeks. Depending on your case your doctor could decide on a different routine for you to be given this treatment. There are many side effects to this treatment, which can be very dangerous if not life threatening. Before the doctor administers this treatment he will give you another medication called dexamethosone. This medication has to be taken regularly before the other treatment. If a patient does not take this other medication the side effects could be even more dangerous.

The thing that makes taxotere chemotherapy treatments harmful is that it can harm healthy cells in your blood, mouth, stomach, and intestines. It can also cause you to loose your hair. If you are someone that has allergic reactions easily, your doctor should know this before administering this type of treatment. Some other side effects include a drop in white or red blood cell count, edema, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, tiredness, bone and muscle pain, rash, changes in your nails or eyes, weird sensations, infections, irritation in your throat and mouth, and even other allergic reactions as well as to the site where the infusion is made.

This medication is supposed to help you with your disease but it seems to have many dangerous side effects. The actual application of the medicine seems very simple but after receiving the medication you could have an allergic reaction or even obtain a illness along with your disease that could kill you. It is a good idea to be very informed before starting any type of new medication especially like taxotere chemotherapy. Most chemotherapy will make you sick and even cause hair loss, this something to remember before rejecting this treatment.
